“If Only It Was A Dream” by Gary L Robinson

Sleep, restless with uncertainty dreamed
A lie, nothing was as it helplessly seemed
"Mr. Sandman please come visit me" - Hopeful

The warning came with a lightening flash

Followed by the foreboding thunder crash
"I hate nights like these" - Fearful

As she rose, a mechanical rumble was heard

To the window she sprang, uttered not a word
"Oh please Lord not again" - Unsurprised

Through the rain laced window she peered

And found the sight she always feared
"NO… mom why must you leave" - Repulsed

A tear fell, mirrored the horrid weather

Cheeks and glass streamed, cried together
"Why do you do this to us" - Questioning

Her father away to make them a living

To support and selflessly, he was giving
"Daddy, I wish you would come home" – Lovingly

Through blurred eyes and fogged window pane
She watched this play act out, dark and insane
"Mother please don't leave us here alone" - Anguished

A mother unaware, fled with a selfish grin
To drink, smoke and lavish herself in sin
"What are we going to do" - Doubtful

She the oldest age five and sister three
Unwillingly, the children alone and free
"How long will she be gone this time" - Disgusted

She returned to bed, along side crying sister
Alone, while mom left with unknown mister
"Its ok sis, we'll be fine...don't cry" - Protective

The lil' girls cuddled and found their solace
She then and there made a solemn promise
"Shhh...I will protect you now and forever" - Purposeful

 Sleep restless with uncertainty dreamed
A lie, nothing was as it helplessly seemed
"Please Mr. Sandman come visit me and sister" – Numb

To Feel by Gary L Robinson

Its amazing how ugly this world can be...
how we treat each other, out for selfish gain...
but yet in the solace of empty moments...
when a cool breeze embraces the soul...
with eyes closed to relish its touch...
the body has the capacity, to feel all...
to FEEL is to be human, born and bred...
Ahhh yes the humanity of it all, humanity...
the term that is our building block, our core...
Then why my friends are we so alien???

Thirsty for More by Gary L Robinson

‘Twas night...all yet still
Silence...a deafening roar
What cometh...a raging thrill
Beaconing...thirsty for more

Bodies heated and intertwined
Seductive kisses aflame galore
Passions...yet no longer confined
Beaconing...thirsty for more

Hands roaming...sensual touches
Minds heightened... never before
Bare hips...in tightened clutches
Beaconing...thirsty for more

Place so wet...vigorously breached
Climax deep...beginning to soar
Her release desired for… reached
Sweaty...she thirsts for more

Need I say more?……..

A Day At The Beach by Gary L Robinson

They walked the shoreline hand in hand as any lovers would, though they were not lovers but just the best of friends. A salty breeze whipped through her hair and it seemed to be playing a game of ‘hide and go seek’ with her beautiful face. Lynn and Noni had been the best of friends for close to six months, at times tied at the hip like Siamese twins. From the first couple days of they spent together, they realized they had more in common than any other of their friends or past loves. However shortly after, it seemed that their friendship was to never manifest. This was going to be a day they would remember for a life time in more ways than one.
Lynn in his early forties sported a greying goatee and short hair. He had eyes that Noni had once described as “pools of blue that pierce the soul”. Lynn had a modest job and wrote poetry for a hobby. With his children grown, he had a lot of time to himself to expand his passion for writing. Noni was a beautiful intelligent woman in her late thirties had emerald green eyes with specks of brown. She had long brunette hair this time of year; she wore it blonde during the summer. Just as the seasons changed the landscape’s colors, she dyed her hair to match its change. Noni loved to visit the gym after work to rid herself of the rigors of supervising a crew of warehouse men and sweat off the leers of her perverted boss. She also loved to write but instead of poetry her genre of choice was romance novels. Writing was one of many passions they shared, but ultimately the one that sparked the friendship.
Lynn couldn’t believe how beautiful she was, the look in her eyes and her laughter when he told her his corny jokes. Her outward beauty was a reflection of the beautiful spirit she held within her.

"If Only It Was A Dream" by Gary L Robinson

One more page from "If Only It Was A Dream". A poem of being hurt in a relationship and the reluctance to start anew!
I Can Feel The Fear

I can feel the fear,

And the backing away.
Fear of the uncertain,
And what could be.

The fear so horrid,

And a lonely thing.
I can feel your fear,
You’re backing away!

Your fear a blockade,

And a helpless way.
I know your fears,
You’ve backed away!

Giving into the fear?

“Because I’m afraid!” (she sighed)
Afraid of what dear?”
“Giving in…..!!!” (she cried)

Dating these days can be as rough as getting divorced. It is difficult to find that right person after such a traumatic experience. Unfortunately, though we try our best to keep it suppressed, we carry baggage on to the next prospect. Some have been hurt to the point that high walls are built to protect feelings. They will build walls so high, “The One” may be passed over for the fear of the unknown. Sadly, it happens too many times. A nice guy labeled as just a smooth talker and mistrusted while the bad boy isn’t given any feeling nor does he expect any.
